Caroline and the Rebels

Caroline and the Rebels

Movie Info:

Caroline and the Rebels (Le Fils de Caroline Chérie) is a French film directed by Jean Devaivre set in the year 1955. The movie cast features three pioneers of their time Jean-Claude Pascal as Juan d’Aranda, Sophie Desmarets as Duchess Laure d’Albuquerque and Brigitte Bardot as Pilar d Aranda. The historical drama focuses on 19th century Spain and explores the life of a Spanish Aristocrat Juan d Aranda who takes part in the attempts to resist an invasion in his homeland. This scientific fiction can easily be separated out from the rest of the French films made in the mid-20th century but it can rather be compared to Hollywood films due to its romantic nature and woos the audience.

The movie is not entirely based on Caroline Cherie’s series because the titular character Caroline is not seen in the lead role and is only mentioned in the body of work. The director used Saint-Maurice Studios based in Paris during filming, and Roussillon served as an outdoor location, set novelties were carried out by an artist Jacques Krauss.

Before going into the details of the characters, it can be started by mentioning a few things – the complete domination of the audience and soon the complete put together performance given by all three notably Jean-Claude Pascal and Brigitte Bardot. Models aimed at surrounding and altering the thoughts of the French revolution while portraying the ongoing evolution of Brigitte. As the timeline proceeds we see a shift in focus to the admission rates as France registered a staggering 1.6 billion visitors across the Caroline and the Rebels in just the first release alone.

People who are fond of the classics of French cinema can appreciate *Caroline and the Rebels* as a unique example of the 1950s adventure film and its associated tropes; even Bardot’s first works can be viewed within the context of that narrative style.
